Danny Lee Luce, 75, of Harrisburg, North Carolina, passed away on November 3, 2022, leaving behind an adoring family and a legacy of love and service to others.

He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 25, 1947. After graduating from Northside High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving tours on both the USS Dennis J. Buckley DD 808 and the USS Alfred A. Cunningham DD 752 during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to Indiana, he married the love of his life, Shirley Vanderhoff, and they settled in Fort Wayne.

While in Harrisburg, Danny joined Harrisburg United Methodist Church (UMC) and was an active and beloved member of the church community, serving with several ministries and building relationships with countless youth and families. He worked faithfully as a plant manager for Dana Corporation, then Eaton Corporation, before retiring from Eaton after many years. He made full use of his retirement, playing golf, working part-time at Lowe’s Foods, woodworking, and especially enjoying time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lelah Mae Luce, as well as his sister, Barbara, brother, Richard, and his daughter, Jacki Grinstead. 

He is survived by his cherished wife, Shirley Luce; sisters Darlene (Ronnie) Myers and Bev Acker; sons Scott (Michelle) Luce and Ken (Sarah) Luce; daughter Brenda (Paul) Eason; twelve grandchildren, Mason, Montanna, Marshal, Maccoy, Malia, Clayton, Katie, Kari, Emily, Wesley, Kelly, and Dani; and three great-grandchildren, Scarlet, Owen, and Emry.
