Daniel W. “Karp” Gapinski,49,of 2703 7th St Peru,died at home surrounded by his family on May 31,2014 after a long battle with cancer.
Dan was born in Peru on January 28,1965 to Edwin “Neff” and Joyce(Grabowski)Gapinski. He married Becky Samolinski on May 15,1992. He was an Operating Engineer with Local #150. Dan was a member of Peru Eagles and also a member of the Illinois Valley United States Bowling Congress (IVUSBC). He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Enjoyed golfing,bowling,fishing,boating and four wheeling. He loved being with his family and vacationing in South Haven,Michigan.
Dan is survived by his wife Becky of Peru; two sons, Jake(Jennifer)Marsala of Peru and Koty Gapinski of Peru; one granddaughter Kayli Marsala; his mother Joyce Gapinski of Las Vegas,NV; three sisters, Laurie(Bryan)Galetti of Spring Valley, Karen Roby and Tammy Dettore,both of Las Vegas,NV; one brother Ken(Debbie)Gapinski of Dixon; his mother-in-law Marjorie Samolinski of Oglesby; Nieces,nephews,brothers in law,sisters in law and his two dogs, Bailey and Shea, who he loved to take old man rides in his truck. He was preceded in death by his father.
