Daniel T. Kelly, age 94, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at his residence. Born in Brooklyn, New York to John and Theresa Byrne Kelly; Daniel came to the area in 1989 from Staten Island, New York.
A United States Navy veteran, Daniel was a New York City Police Captain, and retired in 1981. He grew up in Brooklyn and lived in Staten Island for 35 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Maura (James) De Gaetano; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Jamie; 3 great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Pinky in 2004 and his loving companion, Jean Marroletti, in 2009.
