Daniel Richard Youngblut, 70, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 in Scottsdale, AZ. Dan was born on April 21, 1952 in Freeport, IL to Richard and Carol (Plowman) Youngblut. He graduated from Aquin High School in 1971. After graduation he joined the United States Navy until 1977. While in the Navy, Dan worked on electrical/mechanical equipment. His work in the Navy led him to a career with phone companies, retiring from Verizon.
Dan had a passion for wildlife and the outdoors. He grew up on a farm in rural Freeport, IL. He raised his three children surrounded by animals (deer, llama, ducks, emu, ostrich, peacocks, and of course dogs). He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends.
After retirement, Dan moved to Arizona where he worked as a handyman and worked at Ancala Golf Resort. He spent time with friends and helping others with home repairs.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children: Laura Youngblut, Kyle Youngblut, and Rachel (Ryan) Vance, his two granddaughters and his siblings: Dave (Mary) Youngblut, Paul (Jeannette) Youngblut, Dixie (Larry) Gantz, and Jeanne Youngblut. He will also be remembered by his friends.
