Daniel R. “Danny” Markwell, age 61, of Morehead, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, August 27, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead from a terminal illness.
Born August 8, 1957, in Morehead, he is the son of Stella Bentley Markwell of Morehead and Burley Markwell, Jr., who preceded him in death on April 24, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Utterback Markwell, in 1980.
In addition to his mother, Danny is survived by two daughters, Ashley Bowen (and husband Jerry) of Haldeman and Ryane Davis (and husband Tim) of Morehead and their mother Jackie Gregory Markwell of West Liberty; two grandchildren, Noah Bowen and Kobie Davis; one brother, Johnny Markwell (and wife Terrie) of Morehead; one sister, Shari Cornett (and husband Cecil) of Morehead; four nieces, Kaylia Zancan, Stacy Brown, Ambria Bailey, and Sancha Markwell; and several great nieces and nephews.
Danny graduated from Rowan County Senior High School. He was an entrepreneur and owned Appalachian Saw and Tool for several years, where he worked as a saw filer and inventor.
