Daniel Patrick Noone, 60, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at home after a long and courageous battle with glioblastoma.
Dan was a graduate of Roncalli High School, class of 1980 and went on to attend college at ITT Technical Institute where he earned an Associates Degree in Tool and Die Making. Daniel was a caring son and brother, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and a committed public servant. He retired after 25 years with the Indianapolis Fire Department. Daniel was appointed to the Indianapolis Fire Department on January 17, 1995 where he was first assigned to Engine Station 26. He continued his leadership and devotion to the Indianapolis Fire Department by working at Engine Station 15, Engine Station 11 and Ladder Station 22. Dan became the Engineer of Ladder 22 before retiring from that position on February 22, 2021. Prior to joining IFD he was a tool and die maker with Elmco and had worked for Citizens Gas.
Dan was a member of Indianapolis Professional Firefighters Local 416, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, IFD Emerald Society, Knights of Columbus Co. 3660 and the Men’s Club at St. Roch. Dan loved his motorcycle and dreamed of taking it on a cross country tour. Dan will be most remembered for his love of family and friends, his contagious laugh and for always putting others first.
Dan is survived by his wife, Choung Oun Noone; children, Steven (Erica) Screeton, Amber (Mike) Doughty and Sabrina, Jennifer and Nathan Noone; siblings, Tim (Linda), Denise Wood, Kevin (Jane), Tom (Susie), Joe (Josie), Paul, Kathleen (Richard) Mickel; and grandchildren, Lill and Paisley Doughty.
