Daniel P. Lecher, 78, Greensburg, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Piedmont Henry Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Born, on January 9, 1937, in Hamburg, Indiana, he was the son of Clem and Stella (Schebler) Lecher.
Dan worked for the Local 440 Union Plumbers and Pipefitters for 45 years, retiring in 1999. He also farmed and collected Allis Chalmers tractors. He was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles Lodge. Dan enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, watching sports, spending time with his family, making quilts with Betty, and vacationing in Florida for the past 16 years. He was married to Betty Ploeger on January 4, 1992, and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Tim (Donna) Lecher, Greensburg, Don (Linda) Lecher, Greensburg, Jeff (Marilyn) Lecher, Greensburg; five stepsons, Jeff (Donna) Moorman, Greensburg, Barry (Jill) Moorman, Greensburg, Scott (Kathy) Moorman, Fairfield, OH, Darrin (Pam) Moorman, Hamburg, Ted (Beth) Moorman, Greensburg; one brother, Tom (Barbara) Lecher, Oldenburg; two sisters, Thelma Harpring, Columbus, Arlene Feldman, Greensburg; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elsie Hardebeck, and Gertrude Horan.
