Daniel P. Kelleher, Jr. died peacefully at home after a long illness on July 2, 2018.

Born on April 21, 1941, he was predeceased by his parents, Daniel P. Sr. and Marion (Guros) Kelleher, and his brother Terrence.

Dan was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Rutherford, NJ, Carroll College, Helena, MT, and Montclair State University with a Masters in Guidance and Counseling. Mr. Kelleher served in the US Navy in Vietnam. He started his teaching career at Paul VI Regional High School in Clifton teaching Accounting and Business. In 1977 he became a Guidance Counselor at Montville Township High School. In addition to counseling, Mr. Kelleher coached basketball at St. Mary’s High School, Montville High School and St. Clare, Clifton, CYO team. He coached swimming at Montville High School and officiated football, soccer, softball and swimming.

After retiring in 2006, he moved to Toms River with his wife of 47 years, Virginia (Hayes). He is also survived by his son, Terrence of Bloomfield; his daughters, Margaret of Clifton, and Sheila Glover and her husband Kenneth of Toms River; his brother, Ronald of Lyndhurst; three grandchildren, Katie, Kenny and Will Glover; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
