Daniel P. Even, Sr. passed away

from natural causes. He was the youngest son of eight born to Susan (Kurtenocker) and Frank Even in Humboldt, SD.  His family eventually moved to Sioux Falls where he attended school. He was drafted to join the military, at age 18 (WWII).  He served two years in the Army, stationed in Greenland as a clerk/typist and sometimes supply agent.

After leaving the military he was injured in a serious car accident, in Boise.  This is where he met his future wife, Barbara Bish.  Barbara was a young nursing student when she met and married Daniel. Daniel worked as a roofer for the first two years of their marriage.

Daniel started a career as a long haul trucker, driving in 1949 with Peasley/Allied Transfer and Storage Company. He was very proud of his career and was Truck Driver of the Year in 1979.  He also brought all the equipment into Boise to start the first TV station (KTVB 7).  He was on the road for over 55 years for the same company, while Barbara raised their six children, four boys and two girls.

Daniel was a quiet and caring person and who had a good sense of humor.  He did, however, miss his family a great deal while he was on the road.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, daughter Marilyn, and grandsons, Otto and Fernando.

He is survived by his children Bob Even (Andrea), Daniel P.  Even, Jr. (Deborah), Alan Even (Deborah Wallace-Even), Teresa Bond, Joseph Even (Liz), several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.
