Daniel O Owens Sr., 83 of Newburg, WV, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born on October 11, 1931 in Denver, son of the late Henry and Lavada Bolyard Owens. Daniel had worked as a Timberman for J Hardesty and Jim Marin before he retired. He loved gardening, hunting and visiting familiar places from his past. And his loving companion, Snoop, Tippy and Lucky. Daniel was survived by five children, Mary Boice and husband John, CT, Brenda Cole,Morgantown, Virginia Mitter and husband Aaron, Newburg, Becky McAtee, Morgantown, Reuben Owens and Missy, Tunnelton; nineteen grandchildren, including his grandson, Frank Owens who help as a caretaker; twenty-one great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jim Owens, Tunnelton, Tom Owens and Irma, Thornton, Randy Owens, Grafton, Leo Owens, Kingwood; three sisters, Shirley Harris, Kingwood, Naomi Pifer, Kingwood, Jean Buseman, Morgantown,; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Mitter Owens, one son, Danny Owens, one daughter, Joyce Owens, three brothers, Calvin, Glen and Fred Owens, three sisters, Blondale Owens, Margarita Shaver and Mary Bolyard.
