Daniel M. Spiegel, 72, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at 5:08 p.m. in his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born February 27, 1940 in Terre Haute to Daniel M. Spiegel and Dorothy Biggs Spiegel.
Daniel served in the United States Marines. He worked at Shanks Motor Company and Terre Haute Auto Plex before retiring from car sales. Daniel was a member of the American Legion #346, AmVet, Kentucky Colonel, and DAV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lyle Dorsett.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Jackie Troutt Spiegel, whom he married May 30, 2008; sons, Dean Spiegel of Indianapolis and John Paul Spiegel and his wife, Susan of Gas City, Indiana; daughters, Pamela Craig and her husband, Tony of Indianapolis and Terrie Spiegel of Indianapolis; stepsons, Joshua Houle and his wife, Kayla of Marshall, IL and Nathaniel Houle of Terre Haute; stepdaughters, Jamie Houle of North Vernon, Indiana and Ciera Houle of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is also survived by sisters, Barbara Schwinn of Carmel, Indiana and Marcia Morton and her husband, Dr. Berry Morton of Denver, CO ; 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his two dogs, Freckles and Jada.
