Our loving husband and father, Daniel Lee Mascarenas II, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021.

Anyone who met him immediately felt his genuine love. He gave all he had to everyone he came into contact with, especially his wife and children. Daniel met his wife Candace at the age of 13-years-old in Tooele, Utah, and from there they built a beautiful family together in Layton, Utah. Daniel and Candace were  married in Draper, Utah on August 2, 2008. Later, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 6, 2012. Together they have five beautiful children: Daniel Lee III, Chloe Analecia, Adrian Everett, Evangaline Tauriel, Nicholas Eric. He is an amazing father who loved to roughhouse with his children and tell jokes to them to make them smile.

He was born in Tooele, Utah on January 26, 1986, to Daniel and Hellen Mascarenas. He had many obstacles in life, but strived to overcome them through the love for his family and his faith in Jesus Christ. He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in January 2010. He loved being of service to the members of his community and always did so with a smile on his face and a joke to give. His main trade skill in brick work gave him opportunities to build many buildings around the Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber counties. He always took pride in and worked hard in all of his occupations.
His most cherished work however, was done on the Ogden Temple renovation. There he made many deep, lasting friendships and memories. His main hobbies included weightlifting, fixing cars (he always dreamed of fixing up his ’68 Impala with his dad, his sons, and his best friend), and relaxing with his family.

Daniel (Danny) Lee Mascarenas II is survived by his adoring wife, Candace; his five children, Daniel (15),Chloe (11), Adrian (9), Evangaline (7), and Nicholas (5); his father, Daniel (Shonda) Mascarenas; his mother, Hellen Patton; his siblings, Angela Mascarenas, Eric (Jessi) Mascarenas, Cristina Mascarenas, Tyson (Courtney) Mascarenas, Erma Prince, Jacob Langrebe; his grandmother, Gloria Mascarenas; his wife’s family who loved him like their own, especially Ruth Hulett, Casaundra Boyer, John Boyer, Rachelle Cameron; many aunts, uncle, nieces, and nephews; and many friends who he considered family.

He was preceded in death by many others who loved him and have welcomed his return. We are saddened by his sudden departure, but find comfort in knowing he has been made whole.
