On July 28, 2022, Daniel Lawrence “Dan” Strominger passed away at age 70. Dan graduated from the Johns Hopkins University, and received a Masters Degree from Pace University. He worked as a systems engineer and manager at IBM for 35 years and then spent 6 years as a contractor at SSA.  After his retirement, he found great joy in volunteering at Talbott Springs Elementary School, where the children called him “Mr. Dan.”  He loved turtles. He was always on “turtle alert” when he drove, and many turtles owe their lives to him because he would always stop the car to rescue them from the middle of the road. He was an amazing pie baker, and began a family tradition of birthday pies. He loved beer and he could fix almost anything. He also loved Christmas music and played it all year long. Dan was a lifelong Chicago bears fan, and enjoyed a friendly rivalry with his Ravens living in-laws. He was the best husband, dad and grandpa. He loved fiercely and was fiercely loved. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Daniel L. Strominger is survived by his loving wife Barbara, sons Sean (Shelly) and Tim (Michele Jackson); grandchildren Emily (Zach Miller) Madelyn, Christopher and Natalie; daughter in his heart, Katherina Schlichtherle; sisters Bonnie Landmesser (Dave), Betty Strominger, Debbie Thompson, and Cheri Johnson; in-laws Beth Jacobs (Mike), Dan Samluck (Brenda), Donna Gray (Mike), Dave Samluck (Patti) and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dan is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Strominger, brothers Chuck, Jack and Pat, and sister Penny Govert.
