Daniel enjoyed basketball and graduated from M.C. High school in 1988 where he played for the Elston Red Devils and held a double figure scoring percentage. His best shot was at the free throw line where he set a record of 88% in his senior year. Dan received a scholarship to Concordia University where he played before attending Purdue university. Though his basketball years ended competitively after his scholarship Dan never lost his love for the game. He taught all of his children how to play and still played one on one games with them and more recently began teaching his grandson. As his children and family would agree basketball was in his blood. While Dan enjoyed that sport he also had a love for the lake, which explains why he ended up living right next to one. He always wanted to be relaxing by the water with country music playing and his loved ones around. He was a great cook and enjoyed hosting his family for dinners and holidays. Dan specifically love Christmas and giving to others brought him joy. He had the biggest heart underneath his strong exterior, and was also known for working out even if it meant push ups on the dock or in the office on his lunch breaks. Dan will forever be remembered and loved.
