Daniel J. Walkowiak, 91, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in Bridgewater Healthcare Center, Carmel, Indiana. Daniel was born on September 21, 1926 in South Bend to John and Irene (Kuczmanski) Walkowiak, and was a lifelong resident. He retired in 1989 from Uniroyal-Ball Band, where he was employed for 36 years. He had also been employed as an Internal Auditor with King and Company, currently High Grades. On September 29, 1956, in St. Stanislaus Church, he married Joan Rose Chrzanowski, who preceded him in death on November 24, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jane Tharp. Daniel is survived by his daughter, Jolynn (Donald) Kuehr of Carmel, Indiana; his son, James Gerard Walkowiak of South Bend, Indiana; his grandson, Edon James Kuehr of Carmel, Indiana; and his two grandpuppies, Brewster and Bosco.
