Daniel J. Mahoney, 82, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He and his wife Cecilia C. (McCunney) Mahoney celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in April of 2011. Born in Philadelphia, he was the only child of the late Daniel M. and Anna (Doris) Mahoney. Daniel was a graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School and St. Josephs University of Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and the Korean War. Daniel and his wife owned Mahoneys Irish Pub in Allentown for the past 27 years, and he previously worked at the Wayne Tavern in Wayne, PA and the Whitehouse Inn of West Chester, PA. He also worked for the Dupont Corporation, Whetherall Paints, and Sherwin Williams Paints. Daniel was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Pope John the 23rd Assembly in Exton, and he was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. Survivors: his loving wife, Cecilia; daughters, Eileen M. Mahoney of Whitehall, Kathleen M. Williams and her husband Edward of Coatesville, Linda M. Hicks and her husband Dale of Downingtown, Marie Carr and her husband Steve of Exton, and Margaret M. Mahoney and her fiancé Blair Wiesner of Bethlehem; 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Kimberly, and Amy Hicks and Bernadette, Jennifer, and Melissa Williams; and a great-granddaughter, Mariah Williams.
