Daniel J. Campobasso Jr., of Plymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family, due to complications from a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.Daniel (Dan) was born on July 11, 1948 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, MA to the late Daniel Sr. and Eleanor (Lannon). He was raised in Arlington, MA, graduating from Arlington High School in 1966 and Boston State College in 1970. He went on to a 33-year career with the MA Division of Banks. In 1981, he moved his young family from his original hometown of Arlington to Plymouth, where he resided as a member of St. Bonaventure Parish until his death. After a very brief retirement from the banking department in 2003, he was the Vice President of Compliance at New Bedford Credit Union for ten years, before retiring a second time in leaves his beloved wife of 50 years, Rose (Smith). He is also survived by his cherished daughters Nancy Slaney and her husband Paul of Plymouth, Kara of Nashua, NH, and Laura of Hyannis, his devoted sister, Carole of Hampton, NH, and his loving grandchildren, Shannon, Brendan, and Ryan Slaney of Plymouth and Eamon and Owen Golden of Nashua, was a great friend to many. He was especially known for his quick wit and intelligence. He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially for the Patriots and Red Sox in recent years. Dan was a great family man. He enjoyed spending many summers at his family’s cottage at Hampton Beach, NH. He was most proud of his three daughters all graduating from college, which was only possible through his devotion and encouragement. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, often taking them along for rides to play keno.
