Daniel Glen Vaughan, III, 34, cherished son of Daniel and Marianne Vaughan and Grandson of Gloria Vaughan passed away suddenly on Monday, November 27, 2017 in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Daniel attended Lake Brantley High School and completed college work at Florida Atlantic University in biology as well as in hospital administration. He spent time working and living peacefully on Cooley Farm in North Carolina where he regained a healthy sense of his spirit. There were some periods of bright hope where he gained control of his life and we gained our family member back. In those moments Daniel possessed a future we were all excited for him to embrace.
Daniel possessed a kind and gentle soul that could immediately be seen in his large and disarming blue eyes. He had a natural and raw intelligence the likes, which are gifted to few people, and it would have been our great joy in life to see him as a man in full control of his demons. All of the wonderful blessings that he had, intelligence, charisma, and the love and support of his family, were overcome by the disease of addiction. Daniel battled with addiction for many years and at times was successful in facing down the disease, but in the end his addiction ended his life much too soon and this world was robbed of a loving soul. He attended drug rehab and spent various periods clean, but the disease of addiction is powerful and cunning.
