He was born on September 30, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and was presently residing in Mattawan, Michigan. He was employed at Carrier & Gable, Inc., Farmington Hills, as a Traffic Control & Highway Safety Products Sales Representative.
He was a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are his wife Jacqueline Thompson, daughter Danielle Smith, son-in-law Skip Smith, grandson Emerson Smith and granddaughter Natalie Smith, and two brothers Dave Thompson and Matt Thompson. He was preceded in death by his son Nathaniel Emerson Thompson. A private family service is being held at Fort Custer.
