Daniel Clark Cook, 71, of Ringgold, died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at his home. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in 1963. Dan worked for several newspapers before joining the sports staff at the Chattanooga Free Press in 1968. He loved the newspaper business and covered a variety of sporting events before becoming the Outdoors editor. He retired from the Chattanooga Times Free Press in 2005. After his retirement he continued his career as a freelance writer. He won numerous awards not only for his writing but for his photography.
