Private Graveside Funeral Services for Daniel Burrus Bright, age 88, of Baton Rouge, LA, formerly of Picayune, MS, who passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, were held Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 9:00 am at New Palestine Cemetery.Burial was in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.Bro. Carl Heberg officiated the service.Dan was a resident of New Orleans, LA and Laurel, MS before he moved to Picayune, MS. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Dan was retired from Crosby Memorial Hospital and a member of First Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and loved sports of all kinds. Dan will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bright and Mary Briggs Bright; his wife, Mary Ellen Hopper Bright; his brother, William Bright; and his sister, Betty Nunnally.Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sylvia Ellen Seal; his step son, Edward Scanlan (Annice) Semmes; his grandson, Jonathan (Annie) Seal; his step granddaughters, Melanie (Rick) Dawson and Haley (Brandon) Lee; his step great grandchildren, Emma Lee, Corrie Lee, Regan Doran, and Trey Doran; and several nieces and nephews.
