On February 13, 1961, Daniel was united in holy matrimony to the late Barbara Jean Boyce and the two remained married until her passing in June 2018.
Daniel was called many nicknames by his family and friends, such as; “Dink”, “Danko”, “Uncle Dank”, “Matlock” and “Shady Grady”.
Daniel was a truck driver for various companies, both long distance and locally until he retired. He enjoyed relaxing at home watching Young & Restless, Bold and Beautiful and Judge Judy. He was known for his DeeJay skills during the weekly card games.
Daniel was also known as a detective who was very detail oriented. He was always trying to solve the case.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, John Luther Boyce and Horace Boyce; a daughter-in- law, Lois Boyce and a grandson, Eric Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, John Boyce of Statesville, NC and Anthony (Linda) of High Point, NC; two daughters, Shirelle (Thomas) Allen and Wytina (Darrell) Blackmon both of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Pete Boyce (Bonnie) of High Point, NC; three sisters, Creola Horne of High Point, NC, Mattie Hubbard of San Jose, Ca. and Johnnie Dale of Rockville Md; seven grandchildren; Michael, Vanessa, Scottie, Brandon, Tia, Kendra (Blake), and Darion; eight great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; a special niece, Cynthia Steed and a host of other relatives and friends.
