It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel “Tutor” Martinez on Monday, April 13, 2020 at the age of 66. Tutor passed peacefully in his Brighton home. He resided in Brighton since he was born on November 5, 1953, to Camilla Martinez. Raised by his maternal grandmother Petra (Padilla) Martinez until her death on December 1, 1968 and then by his Uncle Joe and Aunt Frances Martinez.
Tutor is preceded in death by his mother, Camilla Martinez; brother, Bobby Martinez; and Uncle, Joe Martinez. He is survived by his son, Daniel (wife, Paulet), and their two children, Darrian and Danae; his daughter Christina, and her three children, Angelo, Adela, and Eli; sister, Mona Martinez of Thornton; brother, Michael Martinez (Chuck) of Aurora; sister, Diana (Juan) Blanco of Brighton; sister, June (Ann) Marquez of Arvada; brother, Benny Marquez of Brighton; brother, Gerald (Jennifer) Marquez of Brighton. Further survived by many more nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Tutor will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a man who was a great mechanic. He spent countless hours working on numerous cars to either rebuild or repair them. His most favorite things to do were enjoying a cold brew, camping, hunting, and fishing.
