Daniel Arnett, Sr., 69, of Rensselaer, IN, passed away October 17, 2020 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born on April 1, 1951 in Salyersville, KY to Carl and Betty Jane (Rowe) Arnett. Daniel was a graduate of Salyersville High School. He was retired from the Indiana State Highway Department and was also a licensed auctioneer. He truly enjoyed meeting people through his connections. He met his wife Sharon Ann Evans and they married on June 7, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. Daniel was very social and active in many clubs in the Rensselaer and surrounding communities. He was a member of the VFW Post #1279, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2548, the Loyal Order of the Moose #2272 in Rensselaer, IN and the American Legion #146 in Morocco, IN. Daniel loved fishing around Rockville, IN and was an avid fan of dirt track racing.
He enjoyed being a prankster with his family and friends and travelling, participating, and socializing at auctions. He also loved gardening and tending to his vegetable gardens often.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Jane (Rowe) Arnett, wife, Sharon, his sisters, Annetta (Paul) Knoebel of Bothel, WA and Carlen (Eldon) Sizemore of Rensselaer, his brother, Keith (Juanita) Arnett of Rensselaer, his children, Daniel (Michelle) Arnett, Jr., Wendi Arnett, Brian (Erin) Arnett, and Rayne Kemp, stepson, Kyle Evans, all of Rensselaer, IN, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Daniel is preceded in death by his father, Carl, a brother, James Richard Arnett, a sister, Pamela Arnett, and his first wife, Roxie (Marlin) Arnett.
