Daniel A. Hancock, 84, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was born on January 11, 1937 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Norman, Sr. and Gretchen (Gilbert) Hancock. On December 27, 1956 he married his true love, Patricia Tindall who preceded him in death on November 14, 2021. Daniel is survived by three daughters; Vicki (Tom) Gleitz of Mishawaka, Indiana, Rhonda (Paul) Menting of South Bend, Indiana and Lynne (Brian) Bishop of South Bend, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Jenna) Fischer, Danielle (Ryan) Casassa, Patrick (Teresa) Fischer, Allison and Mitchell Menting, Jacob, Joci and AJ Bishop; three great-grandchildren, Cole and Evan Fischer and Lucas Casassa. Daniel was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Tamandli and Leila Holtz, and three brothers; Gilbert, Robert, and Norman Hancock.

 

Dan and Pat began dating at age fourteen and then married at age eighteen. After high school, Dan honorably served in the US Army and was stationed in Japan. Upon completion of his military duty, they settled in South Bend, Indiana to start their family. Dan then worked in sales until retiring in 2009. Dan and Pat’s fairytale love inspired all who knew them. Their greatest life’s blessings were spending time with their family. They were happiest being MawMaw and PawPaw to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
