Hartford City: Daniel Allen Durovey’s long battle with cancer ended in victory when he went home to his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on Monday morning, June 2, 2008.
Daniel was born in Geneva, PA, but called Montana his home for most of his adult life. He was the youngest son of the late Ernest and Agnes (Wilson) Durovey. Daniel held a Bachelor’s Degree from Alliance College and a Masters’ Degree from the Universality of Pittsburgh-Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
His varied career included working for a mental health agency, doing sociological and statistical research, and being a city manager among other pursuits. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing, known for his artistic and writing abilities as well as his humor which included original poems which delighted his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan Joy (Daniel) Durovey, two sons, Lance Morgan Durovey, at home, Sgt. Jesse Daniel Durovey, Afghanistan. Also surviving is a biological daughter, Nikki (Frank) Spaulding Scheuermann, who became part of his life in recent months; grandchildren, Katy, and Jamie.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Carl, and Joseph.
