Dana Lea Townsend, 69, of Johnston, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at MercyOne in Des Moines.
Dana was born June 9, 1952, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Baird) Parsons. She received her education in Urbandale, graduating in 1970.
Dana married Allen Kinnick in 1972 and moved to California while Allen was deployed during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, they returned to Urbandale where she worked for several pharmacies in the area. Dana and Allen later divorced.
In 2007 she married Harold Townsend and they made their home in the Des Moines area. She worked for Mercy Hospital and currently was employed at Walgreens in Johnston.
Dana enjoyed cross stitching and was President of the Valley Junction Chapter of EGA.
She is survived by two sons; Nick (Kari) Kinnick of Johnston and Dustin Kinnick of West Des Moines, a sister Debrah Sage of Urbandale, and a brother Don Parsons Jr. of Florida, three grandchildren, Madeline, Connor, and Grace.
