Dana L. “Chris” Christian of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 14, 1949 at Stanton, Virginia, the son of Ida Stairer Christian Starling and the late John Christian. He was retired from the United States Air Force, during which time he served in Vietnam, and for his valor, was awarded the Bronze Star. He loved his family, his country, and was a proud Eagle Scout and a scoutmaster. He played Santa every year and enjoyed making children happy.
Mr. Christian died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 63. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Jack Starling and a niece, Emily Christian.
Survivors include his wife , Peggy Christian of Sheridan; sons, Dana Lee “Kit” Christian, Jr (Kim) of Illinois, Damien Christian of Mississippi, Cheyenne Walker (Cindy) of Hot Springs, Joseph Christian (Melissa) of Sheridan, Christopher “C.J.” Christian (Suzanna) of Sheridan, Anthony Christian of Sheridan, Jack Christian of Sheridan; foster son, Alex Nance of Sheridan; foster daughter, Sara Purvis of Alabama; mother, Ida Starling of Melrose, Florida; brother, Gerald Christian of Keystone Heights, Florida; nephew, Payton Christian; grandchildren, Janson, Taylor, Harlee, G.T., Elizabeth, Emily; a host of other family members and friends.
