Dana Jay Parker, age 61, of Ovid and a former resident of Holt, died at home on October 2, 2023.Dana was born on April 23, 1962 in Georgia, the youngest child of David and Dolores Parker. He moved to Michigan with his family and was a 1980 graduate of Mason High School. He earned a bachelors degree in his thirties and enjoyed a long career as a civil engineer, until his retirement in 2005. In December 2003, Dana and Mary Ann Volz were introduced through family, and after a brief courtship, the couple married on July 15, 2004. Dana was a perfectionist and knew what he wanted – a trait that suited him well in his career as an engineer. He loved people and often captivated his neighbors and anyone who would listen to his “tall tales”.
