Dan Michael Chilcutt, 66, born August 9, 1946 in Oklahoma, OK passed away August 20, 2012 at his home in Leon Springs, TX. Dan received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He then went on to receive an MS in Aeronautical Systems Engineering from the University of West Florida; an MBA from Oklahoma City University; an MS in both Criminal Justice and Engineering Management from the University of Missouri, Rolla, MO; and a Doctoral degree in Public Policy Analysis/Administration from St. Louis University, St. Louis MO. His long career spanned from flying A-4 Skyhawks in the U.S Marine Corps during Vietnam, then working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, OKC, as an engineer until his promotion and transfer to SWB in St. Louis, MO where he worked as a project engineer and District Staff Manager. He was then selected to establish a Risk Management Department for SWB Headquarters and be the Director, a position he continued to hold after SWB moved its headquarters to San Antonio. In 1998, Dan left SWB to establish the RISK Management Department at UTSA, a position he held until failing health force his retirement from public work in 2007. He was also co-owner of “All Seasons All Reasons,” an antique business. Dan received many honors and awards during his illustrious career; two of which he was most proud; his “Young Engineer of the Year” Award in 1980 ” St. Louis Chapter-Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, and an article he had published in the 1995 November issue of RIMS Magazine; as well as co-Author of an article entitled” Contained Response ” May, 1997 RIMS Magazine. He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Judy, sons, Kevin and wife Barbara of Defuniak Springs Florida, Jeff and wife Lalise of Milton Florida, VIA Police Chief Cory Chilcutt and wife Diana of San Antonio, daughter Mindy and Matt Siemens, Mandy and Christian Castillo, grandchildren Ryan, Travis, Alex, Hunter, Grant, Brennan, Abbie, Jett and Jazmine, Sisters Barbara Tingle, Dallas Texas, Marta Chilcutt, San Antonio Texas.
