Dan M. Burrola, son of Valentine and Guillerma Burrola, passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, March 30, 2019. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Syria Burrola; and son, Stanley “Rick” Valdez. He is survived by his four children, Lindell and spouse, Pete Chavez, Lydia Adams, Glen David and spouse, Stephanie Burrola, and Denise and spouse, Ralph Buchner. He was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He was born in Allison, NM, was raised in Gallup NM, relocated to Albuquerque, retired to Corrales, and his final residence was Rio Rancho NM. His love and dedication to his Church, Country and Family was his inspiration throughout his life.
Loving, laughing, and dancing is what he loved to do.
Dan Burrola enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and was discharged from active duty in 1947. He returned to Gallup, NM and met his wife of 70 years. From 1949-1950, he helped operate the Burrola Coal Company. From 1950–1951, he worked in Fort Wingate Ordinance and transferred to Kirtland Air Force Base. From 1951–1962 at Kirtland, he was a Security Police Officer, specializing in Classified Area Security.
