DALLAS STEWARD’S life began on January 14, 1918 in Laurel, Mississippi. He was the first child born to Laura McQueen and James Steward.
In 1939, Dallas enlisted into the United States Navy so he could help his mother with his younger brothers. In 1940, after completing boot camp in Norfolk, Virginia, he was transferred to the San Diego Naval Base.
After retiring from the Navy, Dallas decided to make San Diego, California his permanent residence.
In 1963, he married Doris Rush.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers.
On Thursday, September 5, 2013, Dallas Steward was called home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of fifty years, Doris Steward; sons, Joe Edgar Rush and Ronald Lee Rush; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, Bernadine Harville, Gloria Chapman and Estella Steward; four sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
