DALLAS NAILON was born on March 31, 1926 in Stamps, Arkansas. He was the youngest of six children born to Willie Nailon and Hattie Richardson Nailon. Dallas spent his childhood in Jena, Louisiana where he received his formal education. It was here he met and married Louise Brackins. There were six children blessed to their union, three sons and three daughters. Dallas enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 in Shreveport, Louisiana and proudly served his country during World War II. He received an Honorable Discharge on June 13, 1946 in Shelby, Arkansas. Dallas moved his wife and four oldest children to San Diego, California in 1952. He worked for the City of San Diego from April 6, 1954 until August 5, 1983 where he retired from the Water Department after twenty-nine years as a committed municipal employee. Dallas opened his home to many foster children, neighbors and friends.
