Dallas J. “Sonny” Taylor, age 80, of Salem, former Kensington resident, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home. He was born October 22, 1935 in Lisbon, Ohio, the son of the late Mickey and Edith (Anderson) Stepanic.
He worked at the Eljers Company as a Craneman for 30 years, and then worked for Hanover Township in Maintenance for 13 years. Sonny was a member of the First Christian Church of Kensington. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rena G. (Wright) Taylor, whom he married August 25, 1957; a son, Mickey (Melissa) Taylor of Winona; 4 daughters, Holly (Francis) Abel of Kensington, Jeannette (Rob) Marra of Summitville, Judy (Dave) Curry of Salem, and Linda (Bob) Sebo of Salem; a sister, Judy (Louie) Smith of Hanoverton; a brother-in-law, Floyd Gray of Kensington; 11 grandchildren, Bryan (Lauren) Taylor, Benjamin (Nicole) Taylor, Brandon (Brittney) Abel, Monica Abel, Robbie (Shannon) Marra, Jessica (Troy) Thorne, Taylor (Jason) Gauntt, Beth Saling and Ricky, Stacy Saling, Courtney Hydrick, and Parker Hydrick; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Cora Gray; and great granddaughter, Abby Walker.
