Dalene Shirley Nichols, of Boise, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 13, 2019. at age 94. Dalene was born in Rawlins, Wyoming on July 16, 1925 to Dale and Emma Baldwin.
Dale’s job with Western Union took the family to Ogden, Utah in 1943, during Dalene’s junior year in high school. She worked as typist at her dad’s office and attended Weber State College in Ogden, where she met Jaye Nichols. Dalene married Jaye L. Nichols on February 22, 1947 in Rawlins. They first lived in Ogden, then moved to Caldwell Idaho, and later to Twin Falls Idaho. They moved to Burley, Idaho in 1955.
Dalene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jaye. She is survived by her sons, Ken (Shannon), Randall (Maggie), Douglas (Judy), and Dale (Barbara) and her daughter Susan Mattson (Gary). She is also survived by nine exceptional grandchildren, and 13 wonderful great-grandchildren.
