Dale W. Ward, Sr., 77 of Caldwell, passed away Tues, Feb 23, 2010 of natural causes.
Dale was born August 20, 1932 to John Harold Ward and Viola Pearl Daughters Ward at French Camp, CA. Dale was the 4th and last son to become part of the family. They lived in southern AZ until Dale was about 11 years of age then the family moved to California at the edge of the Sierras.
Dale was a workaholic. He worked his way through Gem State Adventist Academy in Caldwell and Modesto Adventist Academy where he graduated in 1950. He worked one year before attending Walla Walla College in WA.
At the age of 20, Dale received an “invitation from Uncle Sam” to serve his country from January 1953 until his active reserve was finished in 1961.
Dale retired from the State of WA in 1982.
Dale left behind his wife of nearly 23 years, Sylvia Ward; his daughter, Monica J. Forbes of Boise; his son, John H. Ward II of MO; a brother, Kenneth Clifford Ward of Modesto, CA; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale Willis Ward, Jr.; and his brothers, Vestle and Vernon.
