Dale V. Gibbs, 86, of Jacksonville, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at his home.
He was born December 28, 1931, in Jacksonville, the son of C. Virgil and Norma Ann Strickler Gibbs. He married Barbara J. Shelton on December 3, 1955, in Hernando, MS, and she survives.
He is also survived by four daughters and one son, Terri (Rob) Harr of Concord, Gayle (Michael) Lockenour of New Berlin, Sharon (Bret) Davenport of Jacksonville, Kevin Gibbs of Chicago, and Lori (Jon) Cody of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren, April Frye, Holly (Ryan) Zornes, Kirsten (Ryan) Chrans, Falyn Lockenour, Tessa Lockenour, Justin Davenport (fiancée Hilary Lindsey), Derek (Hannah) Davenport, Kory Davenport, Bailey (Axel) Duarte, and Claire Cody; six great grandchildren; one sister, Norma Jean (Buck) Hord of Melbourne, FL; and his special furry companion, Roo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jim Gibbs and Dean Gibbs (surviving wife JoAnn of Staunton).
