Passed away peacefully at his home, June 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 6, 1933 in Charlotte, MI to Edna and Leslie Rolfe. Dale spent his formative years in Charlotte, and later graduated cum laude from Michigan State University with a BA in Economics in 1955. In 1956, he married the former Barbara Crittenden, also of Charlotte.
They have been residents of Kalamazoo since 1960. She and their two daughters, Laurie and Gayle of Kalamazoo survive. He served his country honorably in the United States Army as an Infantry first lieutenant at the end of the Korean War, stationed at Fort Benning, GA. Dale made his living as a Commercial Real Estate Broker/Investor and was happily self-employed. During his high school years he participated in a number of sports and particularly liked football. Later he followed college and pro sports, being a loyal fan of MSU, Detroit Lions and Tigers. Dale was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish the many locales of Michigan.
He especially enjoyed bird hunting with his friends along with one of his companion Brittanys and was an excellent marksman. Dale is also survived by his sisters, Diane Hamilton (Doug) of Southfield, MI and Doris Walker of Charlotte; three nieces and two nephews; and numerous in-laws and extended family. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother-in-law, George Walker.
