Dale Locklayer Davis Jr. was born in Hillsboro, AL on July 10, 1942, to the late Dale L. Davis Sr. and Queen Ester Foster Davis in Hillsboro. Dale departed this life on August 27, 2022, at his residence in Hillsboro, Alabama.

Dale Jr. confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined David Temple P. B. Church. He later united with Canaan M. B. Church where he remained faithful until his death.

He graduated Tennessee Valley High School in 1960; attended John C. Calhoun Community College in 1970 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Management at Athens State College in 1980. Dale enlisted in the Air Force in January 1961 and served until December 1965. He worked for Worthington’s from 1966 to 1971; Xerox from November 1971 to June 2005 and the Department of Human Resources from 2006 to 2008. Dale was an RV Driver for the Alabama A&M Athletic Booster Club, a group he dearly loved. He also enjoyed farming, cooking, gardening, traveling and being with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Sarah Hamilton, Verdale Davis, George Davis (Mildred) and Charlie Davis (Rose). 

Dale held a special bond with many of his nieces and nephews, especially Christina. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted daughter Dalelia; seven brothers and four sisters; Edward (Rhonda) of Hillsboro, AL; Ricky (Queenanne) of Alexandria, LA; Danny (Marie) of Decatur, AL; Michael Davis of Orange, TX; Donald Watkins (Janice) and Tony Watkins (Debra) both of Hillsboro, AL and Vincent Watkins (Tamika) of Meridian, MS; Lucinda White and Laura Cayce of Madison, AL; Matilda Thompson of Harvest, AL; Elesia Jemison of Hillsboro, AL; a God Sister; Sue Bowman, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
