Dale James “Jim” Showalter, 65, formerly of Upland, died Tuesday afternoon, November 17, 2015, in Huntingburg. He was born in Marion, the son of the late Donal J. and C. Kay (Kristner) Showalter. Jim graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1969 and attended Ball State University. He was formerly employed at Wal-mart.
Music was a huge part of Jim’s life. He played the harmonica, ukulele, and other stringed instruments with several bands in Southern Indiana. Survivors include a brother, Max (Arlene) Showalter, Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Nancy Gore, Upland; two nephews, Alan (Carla) Gore, and Neal (Tamara) Gore; and one niece, Amy (Derek) Jackson; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol.
