Daisy E. Lawson, 81, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, March 02, 2008 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born September 4, 1926 in rural Morgan County, the daughter of David F. and Daisy Gertrude Birdsell Lomelino. She married Lawrence E. Lawson on Jan. 5, 1942, in New London, MO. and he preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1996.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Larry (wife, Joyce) Lawson of Tucson, Ariz. and Keith A. (wife, Kim) Lawson of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Christine (husband, Randy) Trueblood and Pamela Lawson, both of Tucson, Ariz., Rachelle Downs of Bluffs and Celeste Ford of Springfield; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph (wife, Dorthea) Lomelino of Florida and Merle (wife, Betty) Lomelino of Manchester. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Kevin Lawson; one sister, Leona M. Knox; four brothers, David Lomelino, George Lomelino (surviving wife, Katherine of Jacksonville), Carl Lomelino and Orvel Lomelino (surviving wife, Mildred of Jacksonville.)
Mrs. Lawson was a member of Church of God in Jacksonville. She worked during World War II inspecting machine gun parts in Chicago. After the war she was a waitress and a homemaker in Jacksonville. She especially enjoyed cooking for others and visiting with family, friends and neighbors.
