Daisy Ann Bartlett Manders was born November 26, 1930 in Edison, NE and attended school in Edison, Holdridge and Curtis, NE, graduating in 1949. Daisy was fourth in line of a family of five children to Ora and Guy Bartlett. (Anita, Bertha, Celia, Daisy and Ellsworth.)

At 11 years old, Daisy chose to follow Jesus with her life and be Baptized. She enjoyed cheerleading, dance team, time with friends and journalism in her high school. After graduating from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture of Curtis, Daisy took a job as a nanny. This was a big move, which brought her to Woman Lake in Longville, MN. This is where she met the love of her life – Bill Manders.

With a courtship of baseball games and Sunday afternoon dates, they married in 1952. Bill and Daisy were very involved in the Longville community and their church. Daisy enjoyed being a wife and mother to their five children.  She enjoyed her Bible studies and Sunday school teaching, along with many coffee stops with friends. After the sudden death of her husband in 1977, she trusted God to guide and provide for her. Daisy enjoyed time with family, traveling, mission trips to Costa Rica and Alaska, gardening, baking cookies, and time with her friends.  Daisy was active in community support, social services and drove for the elderly along with being on the food shelf advisory board for many years and continuing to volunteer there.

Time with her children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews was the highlight of her final years.  An exciting blessing to Daisy was the birth of her first great grand-daughter Zoë Rebekah Leigh.

Daisy went to be with Jesus on September 9, 2017 at Essentia-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd, MN. She is survived by Cathy (Randy) Swanson, Long Prairie, MN; Sherry Manders, Longville, MN; Merilee (Doug) Payne, Longville, MN; Kay (Mark) Sartor, Princeton Junction, NJ; and R. Jay (Sue) Manders, Longville, MN; and grandchildren Thaddeus Swanson, Brooke Swanson, Leah Payne, Grace Payne, Rachel & Eric Beise, Elyse & Andrew Krawtz, Vanessa & Scott Leigh, Courtney & Chad Wellman, Camille & Jeremiah Enns and many nieces, nephews and friends.
