Daile (“Tater”) Lavone MacLeod, 53, passed away March 6, 2022, surrounded by her children and loved ones.

Daile was born May 6, 1968, in Anaconda, MT. She moved to Whitehall when she was young, where she was adopted and raised by her grandparents, William and Erma McMeekin.

In 1986, she graduated from Whitehall High School, where she was a member of the drill team, cheerleading squad, and played trombone in the band. Daile was a lifelong learner, from the time she was young, winning spelling bees, learning to tap dance, perform acrobats, play the piano, ride horses, and speak Spanish and French. Other than raising three wonderful children, one of her proudest accomplishments was returning to school later in life and attending the College of Western Idaho to study business administration and political science.

Daile spent time living in many places, including Bozeman, Rifle, CO, Boise, Pittsburgh, and Denver. Her career afforded her administrative and finance roles with several companies, including Davis, Graham, & Stubbs Law Firm in Denver, and Soli Bond Inc., in Rifle. Most recently, she was finance manager at Selling Simplified Group, Inc., in Greenwood Village.

Daile’s quick wit, charming smile, and loving, forgiving, non-judgmental heart are just a few of the many things her family and friends will miss about her.

She is survived by her children, Spencer Theisen (Amanda), Shea MacLeod, Connor MacLeod; her siblings, Cena Phillips, Rona Sanchez, Jana (Rob) Miller, and Jory (Nora) Gonzales; nieces and nephews, Ashleigh (Cody) Kenison, Haileigh Sanchez, Carl Dever Austin, Ainsel Parker; Kallie (Matt) Williams, Dylan (Natalie) Miller, and Chloe Miller. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her grandparents, Daile is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Laura and Edward (“Speedy”) Gonzalez.
