D. Sophie Przezdziecki, 89, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. She was born in Cliffside Park, NJ and resided in Irvington for 43 years before moving to Holiday City in Toms River. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Irvington and Saint Maximillian Kolbe Parish in Berkeley Twp. After graduating from Irvington High School she worked for the Department of Defense until she retired.
Sophie was predeceased by her brothers, Msgr. Joseph Przezdziecki and Stanley Przezdziecki; and her sisters, Sr. M. Eugene, CSSF; Dorothy Fafara; Helen Karnaszewski; and Mary Gillespie. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jean Getz of Brick, NJ; Richard Fafara of Alexandria, VA; Robert Gillespie of Annandale, NJ; Judith McManus of Washington, DC; Edward Gillespie of Rockville, MD; John Karnaszewski of Charleston, SC; Gregory Gillespie of Warren, NJ; Eugene Karnaszewski of Durango, CO; and Joseph Gillespie of San Antonio, TX. She also leaves behind several grand nieces and nephews.
