Czeslaw J. Pliszka, 82, of New Britain, the loving husband of Anna (Szpakowicz) Pliszka, passed away on Tuesday, September 03, 2013 at his home. Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Wladyslaw and Franciszka (Romanowska) Pliszka. Czeslaw was a school principal and a teacher in the town of Deby, Poland. When he came to America, Czeslaw worked at the Marriot Hotel in Farmington for 18 years. He placed great importance on education, making sure his children and grandchildren kept up with their schooling and religious education. He was a devout catholic and member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain where he attended Mass daily and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He believed in the power of prayer and he passed this on to his children, grandchildren and anyone he would meet, offering a sincere “God bless you” to anyone he spoke with. He was a very social man and he enjoyed talking to people he would meet, especially about World War II history. He loved playing the violin and composing religious music. Above all, Czeslaw loved his wife and family. In addition to his beloved wife Anna, he leaves his eight children; Elzbieta Zarow and her husband Aleksander, Andrzej Pliszka and his wife Joanna, Jaroslaw Pliszka, Teresa Morodasiewicz and her husband Anthony, Piotr Pliszka and his wife Edyta, Barbar Pinto and her husband Celio, Malgorzata Labaty and her husband Krzysztof, and Maria Grajewski and her husband Wally; twenty two grandchildren; one great-grandaughter; his brother Mieczylaw Pliszka and his wife Zofia; his sister Krystyna Czyz and her husband Telesfor. He was predeceased by his son Stanislaw Pliszka and his sister Marianna Bujwid.
