Cyril (“Cy”) Hatfield passed away November 25, 2010. He was born November 8, 1920 in Nampa, Idaho to Marcus Augustus and Birdie Maude (Bailey) Hatfield. Cyril had three older brothers; Richard, Gayle, and Maurice.
Cyril joined the Navy after graduating from high school and served as a Chief Pharmacist’s Mate during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Oregon State University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Subsequently, he began a career in pharmacy, living and working in Arlington, Virginia. In 1961, Cyril married Barbara Reynders, an elementary school teacher. They lived in Leesburg, Virginia, and had two daughters, Gayle and Marcia.
In 1965, Cyril moved his family to Boise, Idaho, and began a successful career in life insurance with Banker’s Life, now Principal Financial Group.
Cyril and Barbara divorced in 1980. Eighteen years later, Cyril met Charito Cuizon of Dumaguete City, Philippines. They married in 1999 and were together until his death.
Cyril is preceded in death by his parents and brothers.
Cyril loved to shoot trap and skeet and participated in many competitions around the Treasure Valley over the years and developed lasting friendships with his shooting buddies.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at St. Alphonsus Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care of our husband and father.
