Cynthia Taylor-Wolfe, 59, of Bowie, Md., passed away unexpectedly the night of January 23, 2015 as a result of an auto/weather incident. Cynthia – “Cindy” to family and friends – was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 8, 1955, the first of three children born to William M. Taylor and Phyllis Moxley Taylor. A graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring, MD, she earned a BS in education from Indiana University, an MA in counseling from the University of Colorado and an MA in Theology from Washington Theological Union. Commissioned as a 2nd. Lieutenant, Cynthia served in the United States Air Force until her retirement in 1994 at the rank of major. She then pursued a career as an educator, teaching at schools in Montgomery, Prince Georges and Anne Arundel Counties. Until her death, Cynthia was a staff member at McArthur Middle School, Fort Meade, MD. Cynthia was a longtime member of St. Martins Church in Washington, DC, where she expressed her deep faith beautifully through liturgical dance. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Girl Friends, Inc.
Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Mark Wolfe; parents, Col. William M. Taylor (USAF, Ret.) and Phyllis M. Taylor, of Silver Spring, MD; sisters, Leslie T. Taylor (Theodore, pre-deceased) of Roanoke, VA; Dr. Sheila Taylor Goins (Kenneth), of Coralville, IA; and nephews, Theodore R. Taylor III (Sarah), Kenneth M. Goins, Jr. and William E. Goins. Also left to cherish her memory are many loving family members and friends.
