Cynthia M. “Marla” Ishmael, 46, of 28197 Fieldhouse Avenue, died at 12:26 a.m. Friday (July 14, 2006) in Elkhart General Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born May 19, 1960, in Elkhart to Samuel W. and Virginia D. (Norment) Hill.
Her parents survive along with four sons, Charles O. “Charlie” (Chasity) Henderson III of Granger, Curtis M. Henderson of Springfield, Ohio, Christopher M. Henderson of Elkhart and Joseph “Joey” Ishmael of Albion; two daughters, Angel Ishmael of Elkhart and Tamera M. Ishmael of Albion; two sisters, Vicki (William Ayres) Goorhouse and Judy D. Hill-Morris, both of Elkhart; one brother, Gary D. Hill of Elkhart; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; a daughter, Adrianna Ishmael, and her long-time companion, Bobbie “Butch” Walters.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service Tuesday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Rick Pirtle, associate pastor of the Riverview General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Ms. Ishmael most recently worked as a delivery courier at Forest Automotive. She was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed working in her yard along with collecting and tending to her planters. She also enjoyed spending with her family.
