Cynthia K. Thurston, 60, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at her residence.
She was born December 18, 1950, in Elkhart, to Eugene and Eva J. (Hoffman) Harmon. On April 3, 2003, she married Carl L. Thurston in Elkhart.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Jeffrey Scott (Theresa) Ghrist, Steven Ghrist and Joseph C. (Ashley) Spell, all of Elkhart; daughter Angela C. (David) Warren of Elkhart; two brothers, Mark A. Harmon of Elkhart and Michael (Rhonda) Harmon of Cassopolis, Mich.; sister Jana (Jerry) Workman of Goshen; 10 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Cynthia was a 1969 graduate of Elkhart High School. In addition to being a loving homemaker, she was previously employed with the Elkhart County prosecutor’s office for nearly 10 years. She enjoyed bowling with her friends, serving as a Scout leader and going to her sons’ Little League games.
