Cynthia Jane Harris Brown, 53, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Dec. 31, 1959, in Chicago, the daughter of James Warren and Patricia D. Norton Harris Sr. She married Dwaine E. Brown on June 17, 1994, in Murfreesboro, TN and he survives.
She is also survived by her mother, Pat Jackson of Jacksonville; her brother, James Warren (wife, Geneva) Harris Jr., and her sister, LaLonna Jackson, both of Jacksonville; eight local nieces and nephews, Trevelyn Thomas, Acasia Harris, James Harris III, Jason Harris, Nathan Morgan, Jatre Harris, Alexander Jackson and Jaylon Jackson, and many nieces and nephews in Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Brown was a 1977 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She was brought up in the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Jacksonville and more recently was a member of Mt. Zion Barfield Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Cynthia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her passion was nurturing her family’s children.
